Hi

Can anyone tell me during the injection moulding process what the effects on the properties and behaviour are of the mould temperature and injection temperatue

The properties of the material will only change if the barrel temp. is above the maximum limit, then it will degradate and lose the mechanical and chemical properties. The behaviour of the material inside the mold is conected directly with the temperature used in both sectors of the machine ( Barrel and Mold). If the temperature of the mold is too low ( for the selected material) there will be problems to fill completely the cavity, and even if you can fill it mostly you´ll have serious problem with internal stress in the material
If the temperature is way too high, the molded part will loose her dimension stability, ´cause the molecular arrangement of the material will have energy to move and pack itself even more than recommended, as a example you can see PP parts that presents sinks when you cool them too slowly.
As for the barrel temperature, you´ll find different pressures and speeds when you change the temperature, it will change your recovery time and quality too.

Hope it help
