Hi everybody,

My application is 'I've used vacuum for some applications simultaneously say for example

1) Filtration MLs sucking from a Nutsche filter into the receiver.
2) Transfer of a liquid from one reactor to another by applying vacuum to the other reactor.

My question is

" what are the parameters to be considered here to decide the capacity of the vacuum pump?"
because there will be a lot of pressure drop across the filter bag of the nutsche filter so is it the high vaccum which is essential or is it the capacity of the vacuum pump which plays a crucial role?

Is there any direct relation between capacity of the vacuum pump and the liquid properties?

Thanks and Regards,
Addy.

Hi,
you can get some idea from the attached file.

Hi Asif,

Thanks for the reply

But actually we are not actually dealing with the vapor phase here.
So can the same calculations hold good? We actually are only sucking the material through pressure differential. So can we calculate the pumping speed by using the normal bernoullis eqn and compare with the capacity of the vacuum pump?

Regards,
Addy.

Hi Addy ,
we also have process vaccum application. where we charge materials to reactor and holding vessels with the help of vaccum.
the vaccum pumps is directly connected to reactor which works for both
distillation and for material transfer.
