hello,

i am a chinese student from australia doing chem/eng. i am given an ion exchange assignnment to do, which i need to design an ion exchang system to recover 99% of the copper ions from an electroplating waste stream. the stream has a flow rate of 2000 L/hr and a Cu2+ concentration of 100ppm.
the report need to have a explanation of the procedure for designing the eqipment. what are the key parameters that determine the performance and capital cost of the equipment? what are the equations that allow the performance to be estimated, and how should they be applied? finally, i need to give a solution the the posed design problem, which illustrates the application of the detailed design procedure. and it should be specifying overall dimensions of the equipment, materials of construction and the value of key design parameters theat affect performance.
can anyone tell me how to start for the report? thanks.
