Hi im practical student at ethylene plant. There is cold box at my plant where the function of cold box is to cold down the cracked gas from 34oC to -34oC. But, the pressure inlet and outlet is still the same. I just dont get understand why is happen?? What i know, if we reduce the temperature, the pressure will be reduce too...is anybody can help me to explain this process...

The temperature decrease is realized by subtracting heat with an external refrigeration cycle and not by expanding the stream.
This is a very basic point......
