hello to all,

 

Generally application of valves in the pipeline is to allow/prevent/regulate the fluid/gas flow.Based on my knowledge the main defect of used valves are passing and jammed. 

What is the best practice for maintain the ball/gate/plug valves in the refineries plant ? 

Erosion also one of the main problem in refineries plant. Certain organisation applying grease and sealant for maintain the valves with the anti-erosion material. 

is it applicable for applying this type of practice in the refineries plant ? Does the purity of the petroleum product will be contaminate ? and which phase of refineries process are having most potential for applying grease and sealant ?
