hi everybody,

i'm looking for rating method to rate the performance of  gas deshydratation unit which is composed of four gas dryers, in each dryer we have two beds of molecular sieves of different diameters (A6 and A4).

waiting for your answer, receive my best greetings  :)

Hi,

There is no established methodology for performance rating of molecular sieve gas dehydrators. There are so many factors including inlet gas quality, quality of internal or external insulation of dehydrator vessels, regeneration and cooling time cycles and temperatures, variations in regeneration gas quality, regeneration gas flow direction (upflow or downflow), liquid loading of inlet and / or regeneration gas which effect the performance of the molecular sieve dehydrator.

Refer the link below for an article on how to extend molecular sieve life:

I think you are looking for a test methodology to know the real performance of your beds. this is called breakthrough test.

to do that you have to have an accurate moisture analyzers in order to take the reading of the water content, by doing so you will have a clear status of your beds performance and you can predict when they needs to be replaced.

the test principle is to to extend the adsorption cycle extra hours more than the normal cycle time until you reach the alarm setting or water content which is different from plant to the other. ( based on my experience it should not be more than 1 ppm).

please let me know if you need further info.

Hi,

I am working on a  project dealing with (premature dégradation of molecular sieve ), i want to check the performance of this adsorbent, do i have to follow all steps of dyer sizing?, because i can't detect the main causes of this degradation.

Please help me by giving me a simple method for checking.

Thank you for your help
