Friends,

Want to establish a new facility for unloading liquid propylene(propane/ propylene mixture) from road tanker into mounded bullets.

Both tanker and bullet at ambient temperature ( winter 10 C , summer 45 C)

Tankers are 38 M3 water capacity which can bring a load of 18 MT each.

Number of tankers to be unloaded daily 18 to 20.

2 bullets are under construction one for receiving unloaded propylene and the other for feeding to the plant. Each bullet approximately 4200 M3 capacity.

The plan at present under consideration is by using compressor to draw propylene vapours from bullet and pressurise the tanker vapour space and push the liquid to bullets.

Is this the normal scheme followed in industry or any improved scheme can be considered ?

Also : Understand unloading can be done both from top of the tanker or from the bottom.

It is informed that for LPG bottom nozzle unloading is followed and other liquified gases like ammonia, propane to top unloading is practised. Is there any reason for this different method.
