Good morning/afternoon/evening. My Name is Thomas. I am studying at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Currently, I am working on a student project with Fraunhofer Society on alternative applications for conductive polymers. Our goal is to find and evaluate further fields of application for this product to bring high value to a broad range of people and make this existing technology applicable to other markets as well.
If you have come across conductive polymers in the past, it would be great if you could share with us what the technology does for you, which merit dimensions it has, why it solves a specific problem for you –and why it is better in doing so than any alternative solutions you could have chosen.
Fraunhofer developed and patented a unique production process for bipolar conductive polymer plates. Major benefits of the manufactured plates include that the material is corrosion free, the plates are thinner compared to those produced by traditional processes and their plates can be subsequently formed and embossed. Currently, the technology is being used for flow- and non-flow-batteries, fuel cells, and electrolysers. Could you think of any other potential application fields?
