What are the criteria to chose between horizontal and vertical gas/liquid separator. When to use what ?

Some rules of thumb:

- Liquid drums usually are horizontal

- Drums for gas-liquid separation are vertical. However, reflux drums are usually horizontal because the liquid load is important.
