Hi Every One:
How do a process engineer find the insulation thickness. for example
if there is Therminol 59 flowing in a 10" pipe @355 F. The thickness of insulation for that pipe is 2.5". How do we calculate this thickness.
Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Hi,

Check out the following links to understand how to calculate the economic insulation thickness.

http://www.cheresour...ulationzz.shtml

http://www.therminol.../tools/pipe.asp

The first one is a wonderful article about insulation on our beloved Cheresources and the second link will lead you to a software for insualtion thickness calculation.

Regards,
Ankur.
