I am reviewing data sheet submitted to vendor for new quote.

it is indicated that duplex filters are to be built per ASME B31.3

ASME B31.3 is a code for process piping. Can anyone point out to what section in ASME B31.3 duplex filter is covered? I went through it, could not find for this specific equipment. Need guidance how to use the code for duplex filters.

Hi,

Actually it means the filter should be considered as a piece of pipe which to be designed per ASME B31.3 not as a mechanical equipment...

Thank you!

There are so many parts/ sections in ASME B31.3, how to find the correct part on the ASME? For example the filters are for seal oil system, piping is 304 stainless steel 600# class. So how to use ASME B31.3 to make sure the vendor is using the right specs?
