hi!

members visit this forum only if they have a problem.

i suggest u all to post anything useful (tip/article/link/experience) if u come across.

today i am posting a tip which was suggested by my senior many years ago:

never ever electroplate/ galvanize high tensile fasteners.
(the reason: h.t.fasteners become glass hard, i.e. as brittle as glass, due to infusion of hydrogen during electroplating process)

by now, u would have visualised the consequences of tightening a glass fastener.

but say u have commited the mistake, don't worry, any experienced heat treater will save u.
