Continuous filtration is required to remove all the solid particles, dissolved
hydrocarbons and solvent degradation products, which can promote corrosion
and foaming problems.  Activated
charcoal bed is used for this purpose.approximately 10% of the total lean amine flow is passed through it . These filters are followed by cartridge filters which remove any
entrained activated charcoal particles from this side stream.
