You normally would remove the gear box, re-align the new driver (an electric motor?), replace the coupling(s) on both driver and driven shafts, install sprockets, and install the chain.
But more importantly, have you reasoned out the safety, viability, and other reasons for changing the type of driver connection? Important items to analyze are:
- Speed requirement;
- Speed variation;
- connected horsepower;
- safety issues;
- aesthetics;
- etc.
